The interlocking "teeth" of the puzzle tatami ensure that the tatami surface remains intact during an intense workout, unlike traditional tatami, which slips apart without support. The number of "teeth": 10 on one side, 9 on the other (these are symmetrically repeated on the other two sides).

Note! There are also PE/XPE foam versions on the market with sectional ribbed patterns, lower density, and "bordered" edges. Consider the following when comparing:

• EVA foam adheres significantly better and is less slippery than PE or XPE alternatives.
• The rice grain pattern also provides higher slip resistance compared to the sectional ribbed version. The latter has lower production costs, which is why cheaper versions usually have this pattern.
• Higher density = better grip and longer lifespan. Greater density also provides greater resistance to mechanical damage, as well as more comfort, better shock absorption, and joint protection.
• If a bordered version is chosen, the edges must be trimmed by the buyer (!), otherwise, multiple puzzle tatamis cannot be placed next to each other with edges.
