The pH of water indicates the acidity or alkalinity of the water. The neutral pH value is 7.0. The pH of natural waters is slightly alkaline (7.2-7.4). The pH range for drinking water is (6.8-8.5). The recommended pH for pool water is 7.2-7.6. The reasons for this are that all water treatment products work best in the range 7.2-7.6, above pH 7.8 unpleasant compounds are formed, the tendency to scale increases and higher and lower pH levels irritate bathers' skin. The pH value can be lowered with pH-Minus and increased with pH-Plus.
